Loupes Repairs FAQs

How long will my repair take?

Repairs are shipped to the Designs for Vision factory in the US and typically take 8–12 weeks, plus shipping time.

Where will my loupes be repaired?

All loupes repairs are sent to Designs for Vision’s manufacturing facility in New York, USA.

Is there a warranty on new loupes?

Yes. All new loupes carry a 6-month warranty on working distance, DPD, and FPD. The loupes also retain Yeoman’s lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

How do I know if my repair is under warranty?

To check if your repair is covered under warranty, simply fill in our contact form and our team will review it for you.

To assess your warranty status, please include the following details:

  • Name the loupes were purchased under
  • Engraving on the temple arm and presentation box
  • Magnification
  • Frame type
  • Year of purchase

Once we have this information, we’ll be able to confirm your warranty status and guide you on the next steps.

Can I arrange repairs directly through Designs for Vision?

No. Repairs must be arranged through MediGroup, so we can manage shipping, communication, and support for you.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is $295 ex GST. This cost covers collection from your home or practice, transport to Brisbane, shipment to New York and back, and final delivery back to you.

Do you have a loan pair I can use while my loupes are being repaired?

Unfortunately, no. Loupes are custom-built for each user, including magnification, DPD, FPD, and prescription, so it’s unlikely we would have a pair that suits your specifications.

Can you prioritise my repair?

Yes, we offer an expedited repair service to reduce turnaround time.

For an additional fee of $639, your repair can be prioritised and fast-tracked through our service team. This helps minimise downtime and ensures your loupes are returned to you as quickly as possible.

How will you update me?

We’ll keep you informed at each key stage of the repair process:

  • Receipt in Brisbane – We’ll notify you as soon as your loupes arrive at our Brisbane office.
  • Assessment completed – Once DVI has assessed your loupes, we’ll provide an update. If any additional repairs or maintenance are recommended, we’ll share a quote for your approval before proceeding.
  • Repair completed – When your loupes are returned to our Brisbane office after repair, we’ll contact you to confirm your preferred shipping address for return.
